Kelly Oubre Jr. got a huge monkey off his back Tuesday night when he finally drained his first 3-pointer in a Warriors uniform.
Oubre entered the game against the Detroit Pistons having gone 0-for-17 from distance in his first three games in a Golden State uniform. Steph Curry gave Oubre some encouragement following Sunday's win over the Chicago Bulls in which the wing went 0-for-6 from deep, and coach Steve Kerr pointed to the other Splash Brother as a reason for Oubre to keep launching.
"You just want to get that one out of the way," Kerr told reporters after the win over the Pistons. "I told Kelly the other day, Klay's had at least two seasons, maybe three, where he's started out 5-for-30 something and just couldn't buy one. And then the games keep coming, you finally have a good game, and then you sort of end up kind of where you should in terms of your shooting percentage and all that."

Sure enough, Thompson opened the 2018-19 season going 5-for-36 from 3-point range over his first seven games before going 14-for-24 from 3-point range in his 52-point outburst against the Chicago Bulls. Thompsons finished the season shooting 40.2 percent from 3-point range.
Of course, snapping out the cold streak with 14 treys in one game will help anyone's confidence.

Oubre scored 14 points in the Warriors' 116-106 win over the Pistons, going 6-for-10 from the field and 1-for-4 from 3-point range.
Golden State Warriors
The 25-year-old is a career 32.4 percent 3-point shooter and is coming off a season in which he shot a career-best 35.2 percent from distance for the Phoenix Suns.
Now that the seal has been broken, expect more triples to start dropping for Oubre.
