Steve Kerr says 1995-96 Bulls were best team he's ever been a part of

The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls won a then-NBA-single-season-record 72 games.

That squad went on to defeat the Seattle SuperSonics in six games in the NBA Finals.

"That season has to be the best team I've ever been a part of," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said during episode No. 8 of "The Last Dance" documentary that aired Sunday night.

So hold on a second.

Better than the Golden State squad that went 73-9 in 2015-16 before dropping Game 7 of the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers?

And better than the 2016-17 Warriors that went 67-15 in the regular season and only lost one playoff game en route to capturing the title?

Well, we don't fully know what Kerr believes because he didn't specify if his comment was referring just to his playing career or if he was including the Warriors teams he has coached.

We do know that the eight-time NBA champion has commented on who would win a hypothetical matchup between the '96 Bulls and '16 Warriors:

"It is literally impossible to even compare, because the rules are so different and the eras are so different," Kerr told Ethan Strauss in November 2015. "We would overload the strong side on [Michael] Jordan, and they would call illegal defense.

"And they would put their hands all over [Stephen] Curry, and the refs would call a foul. That make sense?"

It's safe to assume Kerr eventually will be asked to clarify his statement, and make a declaration once and for all.
