Grizzlies coach Jenkins insinuates Poole injured Ja with knee grab

The Warriors-Grizzlies series certainly has not been lacking in intensity.

All three games of the Western Conference semifinal series have featured ejections, injuries and plenty of emotion on both sides. In the Warriors' 142-112 blowout win over the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center on Saturday night, Ja Morant's fourth-quarter injury added even more fuel to the fire.

With just over five minutes remaining in the game, Morant, guarded by Poole and Andrew Wiggins, went to recover a loose ball, and it appeared as if Poole grabbed the base of his right knee. Morant exited the game and did not return.

In his postgame press conference, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins elaborated on the play, suggesting Poole caused the injury.

"He is being evaluated right now, nothing further," Jenkins told reporters after the game. "We just watched the replay. He was going after a dribble, and Jordan Poole actually grabbed his knee and yanked it, which triggered whatever happened. I’m actually going to be very curious to see what happens after that.”

Morant was clearly not happy with the play and took to Twitter after the game.

The "code" that he is referencing in his now-deleted Tweet is a call-back to Warriors coach Steve Kerr's comments, who said that Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks broke a code on the Flagrant 2 foul that seriously injured Gary Payton II in Game 2.

How serious Morant's injury is remains to be seen. If one thing is for certain, it's that the Grizzlies -- down 2-1 in the series, coming off a blowout loss, and Brooks' return from suspension -- will be extra motivated for Game 4 on Monday night at Chase Center.
