Warriors point guard Nico Mannion continued to shine during the Tokyo Olympics in Italy's second game. Despite a tough 86-83 loss to Australia, Mannion played extremely well.
Mannion scored 21 points while making eight of his 10 2-pointers and added a 3-pointer as well. He also dished out seven assists, grabbed three rebounds and only turned the ball over once.
The 20-year-old did a great job attacking the rim against Australia and made some nice off-balance jump shots.
Mannion scored 10 points and had seven assists in Italy's first game, a 92-82 win against Germany. Italy faces Nigeria next on Saturday.
As a rookie, the second-round draft pick played 30 games with the Warriors, averaging 4.1 points and 2.3 assists per game. In nine games in the G League bubble with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Mannion averaged 19.3 points and 6.8 assists per game.
The Warriors of course hope the Olympics help his development to be a real contributor next season.
