Warriors called, and Jonas Jerebko answered — then signed quickly

Signing with the Warriors was an easy decision for Jonas Jerebko.

Shortly after the Jazz waived the big man on July 7, the Warriors came a'calling.

"My agent called me and said that the Warriors were interested, and after that, it was a wrap," Jerebko told reporters Monday. "When the best team in the world calls, you answer. I’m excited about the opportunity.

"Exciting times for me, it’s exciting times for Sweden. ... I didn’t really look anywhere else after that phone call.”

Once Jerebko cleared waivers, he signed for the veteran's minimum (about $2.17 million) with Golden State. Now, the 31-year old is ready to get to work.

"I'm not gonna travel much," he said. "I've done my vacationing. I've been waiting to sign somwhere and just get to work. I'm gonna go back to Michigan -- I got a gym there -- I'm gonna start going to work. And come back to the Bay early and get ready.

“I’m gonna come into this season in the best shape I’ve ever been.”
