Fans are slowly starting to trickle back into basketball arenas across America.
Twenty-four hours after the Warriors played in front of a sparse, but loud, crowd at Madison Square Garden, they faced the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. Following the tough 111-107 win, Draymond Green found a young Pacers fan in the crowd and handed him a pair of game-used sneakers.
“Just showing the kid some love,” Green told reporters via video conference after the game. “He actually asked Ralph, our security guard to ask him to get the shoes. Ralph said it to me, and of course. We’re headed home. If the kid wants the shoes he can have the shoes. I got no problem with that. Just showing a little love, that’s all.”
Hours after the game ended, Green also hopped on Twitter to ostensibly respond to haters who don’t like his brash approach to basketball.
Green finished the contest just shy of a triple-double, scoring 12 points with 11 assists and nine boards.
Warriors fans must be itching to get back into Chase Center to connect with Draymond and the rest of the squad. For now, Dub Nation will just have to watch on TV as little kids in Indiana get to go home with Draymond’s kicks.
