The Warriors on Friday defeated the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, taking a 3-1 series lead.

In addition to the momentous Finals victory - putting them one away from repeating as NBA champs - Golden State set an NBA record for most total wins in a single season.

The team this year set an NBA regular-season record with 73 wins, besting the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls (72-10). On Friday they won their 15th postseason game of 2016, totaling 88 wins on the year, a mark that has never been reached.

The Warriors on Monday can push the record to 89 total wins, while winning their second consecutive NBA title.
