The NBA announced Thursday that Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant won the 2019-20 NBA Rookie of the Year award.

And in the process, we learned that Eric Paschall finished in sixth place in the voting.

The Warriors forward received two third-place votes (worth one point each), while Chicago Bulls guard Coby White registered three.

Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn -- who spent the 2018-19 season in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors -- was the runner-up.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson and Grizzlies big man Brandon Clarke placed third and fourth, respectively.

Paschall -- the No. 41 overall pick in the 2019 draft -- averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 60 games, while shooting just under 50 percent from the field.

The 23-year-old closed the season on a very strong note, averaging 19.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists over Golden State's last seven games while shooting 55 percent overall and 35 percent from 3-point territory.

The Warriors' coaching staff is very excited about Paschall's potential moving forward.

"That's one of the ways that we kind of look at players and look at the league. When you watch the two best teams in the league play in a regular-season game or when you watch any playoff game -- can this player on our roster be out there?" Steve Kerr said to The Athletic's Tim Kawakami in March. "The answer with Eric for sure is a resounding yes. And that's exciting.

"To be able to get a guy like that in the second round -- and watch him grow and develop -- that alone makes this a successful season."

Although Paschall finished outside the top five, he still has a chance to be named to the five-man All-Rookie First Team.

It's unclear when the league will reveal that news.
