OAKLAND – With a marvelous regular season behind them, the Warriors can turn their attention to the playoffs, which for them begins with a first-round series against a team they know very well.

The No. 1-seed defending champs will face the eighth-seed Houston Rockets, the team they went through last May in the Western Conference Finals, which the Warriors won in five games.

The Rockets clinched the final playoff spot with a 116-81 win over the Kings in Houston Wednesday night.

Not much has changed, as the Warriors this season swept three games from Houston – 112-92 on Oct. 30 in Houston, 114-110 on Dec. 31 in Houston and 123-110 on Feb. 9 in Oakland.

The Warriors, who finished 73-9, the best record in NBA history, have won eight in a row over the Rockets and 12 of 13 including last postseason.

Though the Rockets (41-41) entered the season as a presumptive playoff team, they have been the most disappointing team in the conference and perhaps the entire league. Houston spent most of the season at or below .500 before locking up the final playoff spot Wednesday night.
