Myers reviews Mannion's development with G League Warriors

Nico Mannion was the second piece of the Warriors' 2020 NBA Draft haul, with the organization selecting him No. 48 overall. After signing a two-way contract, Mannion played in six NBA games before joining the Santa Cruz Warriors for the G League bubble in Orlando, Fla.

Mannion has played in six games for Santa Cruz within the bubble, scoring 18.3 points and dishing out 6.3 assists over 32.2 minutes per contest. Warriors general manager Bob Myers joined the NBC Sports Bay Area broadcast of Monday's game between Santa Cruz and the Agua Caliente Clippers, and spoke about how Mannion's development has come along during his time in the G League.

"Nico has been great, and I think what you've seen from him is the same thing we've seen, which is the competitiveness, the desire, the winning plays," Myers said at halftime of Monday's game. "[He's] also learning from some of the miscues and taking care of the ball and things like that, but he's also got a bright future, great talent, better athlete than people think."

The 19-year-old has struggled with turnovers, as Myers mentioned, averaging 4.5 per game in the bubble.

Mannion missed Santa Cruz's most recent game with an ankle issue, and was out Monday due to a quad contusion (h/t Drew Shiller).

The Warriors are 5-3 in the G League bubble, and are currently within the eight-team playoff picture.

Once play concludes in Orlando, the Warriors likely will want to get Mannion some run in the NBA before the 2020-21 season concludes.
