Why Dubs' loss to Hornets was one of Kerr's ‘toughest' as coach

It's no secret the Warriors are looking to avenge themselves Friday when they take on the Charlotte Hornets at Chase Center.

After all, their unbelievable 102-100 loss to Charlotte on Saturday is still stinging. However, when you factor in a late Steph Curry scratch, Draymond Green's double technical and subsequent ejection with 10 seconds left and Terry Rozier's buzzer-beater to win the game, that makes sense.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr joined 95.7 The Game's "Damon, Ratto and Kolsky" on Thursday, where he discussed the anguish and absurdity over Saturday's contest.

"That was definitely one of the strangest nights I’ve ever experienced in the NBA," Kerr said.

"To play that game without [Steph] and compete so hard, and really be in a position to win, and to not win was devastating," he added. "One of the toughest losses I’ve ever felt as a coach. ... That was a long, tough night for everybody."

Nearly nobody could comprehend the bizarreness of the final seconds of Saturday's contest. A stunned, but mostly frustrated, Warriors team exploded after Rozier's shot went in, and Kerr even kicked a basketball down the court after the loss.

Still, it might have served as a wake up call. Green took full responsibility of his actions after, and has been working hard to make up for the loss.

So have the Warriors. Golden State has won their last two games and are aiming to win three straight contests for the first time this season Friday.

That victory would taste even sweeter against the Hornets, which Green dubbed as a "revenge game."

The Warriors will have obvious advantages in this matchup after a night off and with Curry expected to play. Whether they can pull off the victory and truly avenge themselves remains to be seen.
