Like most of us, Marquese Chriss is looking forward to saying goodbye to 2020.
The Warriors center, who suffered a right syndesmosis ankle injury with a fibular fracture, is set to undergo season-ending surgery Thursday. The 23-year-old marked the occasion with an Instagram post.

After having a solid 2019-20 season with the Warriors, Chriss was expected to be an important part of a three-man center rotation along with rookie James Wiseman and veteran Kevon Looney.
In two games this season, Chriss averaged 6.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while splitting backup duties with Looney. In 59 games for the Warriors last season, Chriss averaged 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the field.

Chriss' injury is a blow to the Warriors' frontcourt depth. Wiseman has shown himself to be a quick study for a rookie, but he still is getting his NBA feet wet. Looney is a solid veteran backup, but his health history suggests the Warriors will need another big man at some point this season.
