To Japan with love.

Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown will coach the Nigerian men's national basketball team during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Brown announced Tuesday.

The longtime NBA coach has been on the Warriors’ bench since 2016, after being at the helm of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. Brown was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the Cavaliers to a 66-16 record.

Nigeria will compete in the country’s third-straight Olympic Games. The African nation hadn’t appeared prior.

Brown likely won’t be the only member of the organization making the trip to Japan for this summer’s Olympics, as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all have expressed interest in competing for Team USA this summer after a disappointing seventh-place finish in the 2019 FIBA World Cup for the United States.
