Steph, Draymond not expected to play at Warriors minicamp

Warriors coach Steve Kerr last week said he was unsure if Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson would participate in the team's minicamp at Chase Center (which starts this Wednesday).

Golden State on Monday afternoon announced the roster, and all three players were included.

However, as NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole wrote Monday morning: "Neither Steph Curry nor Draymond Green are expected to participate, though both are welcome."

Bay Area News Group's Wes Goldberg also provided some details.

As for Klay -- who has not played in an NBA game since tearing his left ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals -- it appears he will take the court this week.

In addition, Jonathon Simmons, Jeremy Pargo, Zach Norvell Jr., Roger Moute a Bidias and Ryan Taylor were invited to participate, after all five players spent time with the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors last season.

The voluntary workouts run through Oct. 6.

“I don't want this to seem anything like a competition for next year or anything like that, because it's not,” Kerr told Poole last week. “Next year is a ways off.

"So what I’m interested in is guys making improvement individually in the areas that we've identified where they can improve, and to play together as a group."
