Warriors' preseason schedule for 2019-20 includes four games vs. Lakers

It's the moment we've all been waiting for: The Warriors' preseason schedule is here.

OK, maybe that was a bit dramatic.

Golden State announced its preseason slate Thursday morning and it includes a heavy dose of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins and the new-look Los Angeles Lakers.

Four of their five games will be against the Lakers, and all five will be played in the state of California for the first time since the lockout-shortened 2011 preseason.

The Warriors will play three games in brand new Chase Center in San Francisco, including the preseason opener on Oct. 5.

Normally, preseason games do not carry much significance and you might expect Warriors stars such as Steph Curry and Draymond Green to take it easy during the exhibition slate. But with the Warriors going through so much roster turnover in the offseason -- goodbye Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala, hello D'Angelo Russell, get well soon, Klay Thompson -- these games will be critical for the Warriors to establish their new identity.
