Looney believes road win over Mavs shows Dubs' growth

Could it be? Are the Warriors finally turning their road fortunes around?

Kevon Looney believes so

Speaking with reporters after Golden State's 127-125 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at American Airlines Center, the 27-year-old center explained why the victory showed growth for a Warriors team that has struggled mightily away from Chase Center this season.

"That was a big win. Showing our growth," Looney said. "A lot of games on the road like that this year we lost. Now for us to close that out against a good team like Dallas, it shows our growth and that we're getting better and heading in the right direction.

"Down the stretch, all these games will be important, we got to approach it like that. I liked our sense of urgency as a team throughout the whole game."

Prior to the Warriors' wins over the Mavericks on Wednesday and Houston Rockets on Monday night, Golden State was an head-scratching 7-29 on the road this season compared to its 29-7 record at home.

The Warriors not only snapped their 11-game road losing streak this week, but rattled off back-to-back road wins for the first time this season.

With eight games remaining in the regular season -- five at home, three on the road -- the Warriors will look to ride the momentum they have generated into the NBA playoffs as a top-six seed in the Western Conference.
