If the Warriors could acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo -- but they had to give up Klay Thompson to make it happen -- should they do it?
This has been a hot topic of conversation in the basketball world recently. So naturally, ESPN NBA analyst Tim Legler was asked to put his general manager hat on during a radio appearance Wednesday on KNBR 680.
"You'd have to make that move," Legler said. "You're talking about a guy in his mid 20s ... already been an MVP, gonna be an MVP again this year in my opinion. (He's) just entering the beginning of his prime years. Steph Curry -- the greatest shooter that's ever lived -- playing with a guy that's one of the most unstoppable physical forces in the league.

"You can add pieces around Giannis that I don't even know if they have in Milwaukee right now. You're talking about now going on a whole another run with the Golden State Warriors."
Klay -- the No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft -- is a homegrown product who is worshipped in the Bay Area. He practically has a 100 percent approval rating among Warriors fans.

Even those members of Dub Nation who would green light this hypothetical trade would do so with tears streaming down their face.

"There are very few guys in this league whose name you could throw into some sort of trade for Klay Thompson that I would say, 'Yeah, you'd have to make that move.' That's how highly I regard Klay -- not only as a player, (but) as person (and) what he has meant to the organization," Legler explained. "I'm a big believer in a loyalty factor that you'd love to see.
"But you're talking about Giannis. When you take the talent combined with the age -- and the other pieces they already have there -- you're talking about a whole another sustained run that I don't know if you're gonna get if you don't do something like that.
"You'd have to make that move if you're the Warriors and you have that opportunity."

Golden State might never even get that chance because the Greek Freak could sign the supermax extension this offseason (or next summer) and stay with the Bucks his whole career.
