The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported the news earlier Tuesday.
Curry finished in third place, behind Jokic and 76ers center Joel Embiid. Steph did pick up the second-most first-place votes with five, but Embiid picked up the lion's share of the second-place votes.
Curry -- the only unanimous MVP in league history -- was out of this world over the final six weeks of the season.
The 33-year-old averaged 37.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.0 steals over Golden State's final 21 games, while shooting 49.2 percent overall and 44.3 percent from beyond the arc (on 15.1 attempts).

The Warriors closed the regular season in eighth place in the Western Conference. Had they finished a couple spots higher in the standings, Curry just might have won the top prize.
