Warriors' Steph Curry lets world know he's back with funny movie clip

Steph Curry will return from a 58-game absence when he rejoins the Warriors' lineup for Golden State's game against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. In revealing his excitement, Curry might have offered a hint as to how he helped pass the time during his recovery from a fractured left hand.

Movies. Specifically, "Independence Day."

See for yourself.

In the scene shown, Curry's face is superimposed over that of Randy Quaid's Russell Casse, who claimed to have been previously abducted by aliens and heroically sacrifices himself to get vengeance on his former captors and preserve humanity.

While Curry's return will come under far less dire circumstances, it's fitting he chose that scene. After all, his unique skill set is not from this world and there's an element of vengeance at play as well.

Other than the four games he played at the beginning of the season prior to the hand injury, the last time Curry walked off the court in a game that counted, it was after he and the Warriors had been defeated by the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Toronto can break out the Box-and-1 again Thursday night for all Curry cares. It won't sour his mood.

He's just happy to be back.
