ESPN's Stephan A. Smith loves the hot takes, but this one might be one we can all get behind. He recently said Steph Curry is the top leader in all of sports.
"Five straight trips to the NBA Finals -- the baby-face assassin, universally recognized as the greatest shooter you've ever seen, but by the way who is the person that got Kevin Durant to come to Golden State?" Smith said on "First Take" this week. "Who is the person that took a step back and made the sacrifices for the team? You've got one of the greatest shooters in the history of the game in Klay Thompson as his teammate.
"Steph Curry, what is his greatest gift? It's not just about shooting. It's his selflessness, unselfishness, The fact that he's willing to give and to share the wealth because it ain't all about him -- that's what the bottom line is with Steph Curry."
The six-time All-Star exudes leadership -- the most recent evidence came when he had to watch his team play from the comfort of his own home.
Steph watched rookie Eric Paschall drop 17 points in the first quarter against the Trail Blazers on Monday and even sent out a tweet to back it up. He loved watching Paschall shine as he recovered from surgery on his broken hand.
A lot of us might have Smith's back on this one.
