The Warriors won't be heading to Salt Lake City on Saturday.

Golden State's season came to an end Friday night, while the Memphis Grizzlies claimed the eighth seed in the West and will head to Utah for a first-round NBA playoff series against the top-seeded Jazz.

The Warriors came up short in their do-or-die Western Conference play-in game Friday night, losing to Ja Morant and the Grizzlies 117-112 in overtime at Chase Center.

Steph Curry did everything he could to keep the Warriors' season alive, but he didn't get enough help from his teammates. The 2020-21 NBA MVP finalist scored 39 points in a team-high 47 minutes. Morant led the Grizzlies with 35 points and made five of his 10 3-point attempts.

The Warriors gave themselves a chance by erasing a fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime, but Memphis outscored Golden State 18-13 in the extra period.

The loss will be a tough pill to swallow for the Warriors. They worked hard to finish the regular season in the eighth spot in the West, giving themselves two chances to win one game.

The Warriors lost both those chances, first to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday and to the Grizzlies on Friday.

Now the Warriors head into a crucial offseason with a lot of big decisions to make in order to return to NBA title contention.
