Warriors vs. Lakers date moved to accommodate postponed Clippers game

The Warriors' late-season schedule had to be altered Friday when the NBA announced that the Dubs' April 9 game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center has been rescheduled.

The two teams now will meet on Tuesday, April 7 with the game airing exclusively on TNT. The matchup was moved so the NBA could reschedule the Lakers' game against the Los Angeles Clippers that was postponed last month after the tragic passing of legendary icon Kobe Bryant.

The April 7 matchup likely will mark the only time Steph Curry and LeBron James will face off this season, as the Warriors star is expected to return from a broken hand in the coming weeks.

With the game date changed, the Warriors now will have to bounce back and forth from the Bay to LA that week.

The change also means the Lakers will play games on three consecutive nights, which could come into play as James and Co. battle to secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

The Lakers and Warriors will play Feb. 27 at Chase Center before concluding their season series on April 7.
