The wait finally is over. The return of Warriors basketball brings the opening of their new arena.
Saturday night marks the first game played at Chase Center in San Francisco when the Warriors open their preseason slate against the Lakers.
“We wanted to have the best arena that you could possibly have, the best customer experience, just like we want the best basketball team," Warriors owner Joe Lacob told NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke.
Now, the Warriors get to prove the hard work and a move across the Bay was worth it. They'll do so with a mystery of a roster, too.
While this will be D'Angelo Russell's Warriors debut, it also will be a time for a handful of centers and many other players to prove themselves as Golden State already is battling injuries. And the Warriors will get to do so againt LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Lakers.
