Klay Thompson’s still got it.
While he’s not quite ready to be back in game-playing action yet, the injured Warriors star can still shoot from the corner.
Klay posted on social media Friday a recent 3-point shooting practice at Chase Center where he made his first 12 shots -- with his buddy Zaza Pachulia rebounding.
“Pure water,” Klay said.
Klay also wrote on his Instagram caption that these "no jumpin' jumpers" are the best part of his rehab each day as he recovers from his torn Achilles.
I think it’s an understatement to say, “You love to see it.”
As of last month, Klay’s dad Mychal said Klay will be about a couple months away from true basketball activity, but this shooting exhibition looks promising and certainly gets us excited.
“All that he can do right now is just pool therapy, walking, stuff like that,” Mychal Thompson told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke in an interview last month.
Klay’s rehabbing from an Achilles injury that he sustained in November, which will force him to miss the entirety of the 2020-21 season.
Klay also missed the 2019-20 season after suffering an ACL tear during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. It’s obvious he’s ready to return to the game.
Warriors general manager Bob Myers noticed it too. He said for Klay, basketball is like water -- “he just needs it.”
It's clear Klay wants to help out the Warriors so bad. He will, just not for a little bit.
