What JTA told Brooks after he was too physical with Steph

Steph Curry Dillon Brooks

Juan Toscano-Anderson is as vocal an advocate of Steph Curry as you will find.

The Oakland native constantly praises the only unanimous MVP in NBA history, and he did so again this week during an appearance on The Ringer's Real Ones podcast with Logan Murdock and Raja Bell.

"He's a great leader. He's always positive. He doesn't get mad at you," JTA explained. "He might correct you on some things ... Steph's method is perfect. He's just so balanced that you never feel like, 'Damn, I f--ked up. Damn, is Steph gonna be mad at me?'

"It makes you want to get onboard with that guy. I told Steph at the beginning of the season, 'I got you, whatever you need. I'll run through a wall for you.' And I told him that at the end of the season."

At this point in the conversation, Toscano-Anderson told a great story from when the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the regular season finale.

"Dillon Brooks was being super physical with him [Curry]. I walked up -- I'll find the clip and I'm gonna send it to you -- I walked between them and I stood in his face and said, 'Hey, you're gonna have to back off my [expletive] like that, bro.'

"I'm not a tough guy, but at the same time I got my teammates back. And I'm not just gonna let you keep being physical with him."

We have the clip for you, and it's terrific:

JTA was one of the best stories of the Warriors' season, as he turned himself into a key member of the rotation.

The 28 year old averaged 8.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals over Golden State's final 15 games, while shooting 60.7 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.

He earned a fully guaranteed contract for next season, is beloved by Warriors fans and gives terrific quotes to the media.

And he has nothing but positive things to say about that No. 30 guy.

"I got a lot of love for Steph," JTA said. "I text and he texts me back. He still makes time to respond to me. It's a thorough response. I feel like I'm his teammate. I feel like I'm his friend as opposed to just [being] on a team with Steph Curry."

It doesn't get much better than that.
