Where Casspi believes Warriors place in West next season

Omri Casspi only wore a Warriors uniform for one season, and his time with the franchise ended in disappointing fashion.

But the No. 23 overall pick from the 2009 draft very much still roots for Golden State. And he believes the Warriors will have a fantastic 2020-21 campaign.

"I think people are underestimating our Warriors," Casspi told NBC Sports Bay Area's Grant Liffmann on the "Runnin' Plays" podcast. "Having the second pick (in the draft) -- if the team keeps it. But when guys are healthy, I think the Warriors should be a top-four team in the West next year.

"I think they're gonna be really good. So I'm really excited for next season."

While nobody in the basketball world has come out and said Golden State will be the championship favorite (which is understandable considering the draft and free agency haven't happened yet), plenty of media personalities already have said the Lakers should be wary of the Dubs.

A lot of people do believe that if Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins avoid major injuries -- and if the front office adds some solid rotation pieces this offseason -- the Warriors firmly will be in the title hunt.

"Steph Curry (is) gonna come back and tear the league up," ESPN's Kendrick Perkins said last week. "They don't have to make a monster move in free agency or a monster trade to get back (to title contention)."

The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled for Nov. 18, and free agency is expected to begin around Dec. 1.
