Kerr explains area besides shooting Warriors miss Klay most

Klay Thompson is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.

And the Warriors terribly miss his ability to space the floor, as he strikes fear in opposing defenses.

But aside from knocking down 3-pointers all over the court, what does Golden State miss most with the five-time NBA All-Star sidelined because of a torn right Achilles tendon?

"His defense," Steve Kerr told the media Monday afternoon. "He's one of the best two-way players in the league.

"So when he's off the floor, it hurts dramatically at both ends."

Thompson in 2018-19 was named Second-Team All-Defense for the first time in his career.

The three-time NBA champion is extremely versatile, as he can guard one through four.

When Thompson returns next season, he will be 31 years old and coming off two major injuries.

And while it will be very difficult for him to ever be the defender he was a couple seasons ago, you shouldn't bet against Klay finding a way to have a major impact defensively in 2021-22 and beyond.
