Why Isaiah Thomas claims Steph is best point guard ever

Isaiah Thomas -- who was an NBA All-Star with the Boston Celtics in 2016 and 2017 -- has earned himself some major brownie points with Warriors fans.

Why?

Well, the 32-year-old Sunday night was asked who he believes is the best point guard ever.

"Dang, that's tough," Thomas told Taylor Rooks and Channing Frye on TNT's "NBA Twitter Live" show.

After a long pause, the No. 60 overall pick from the 2011 draft gave his answer.

"I'm gonna go with Steph Curry," Thomas declared. "Changed the game of basketball on every level. On every level in the whole world."

Boom.

Magic Johnson -- widely considered the top point guard of all time -- and Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas hold down the next two spots in IT's book (in no particular order).

Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving are No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

As for Thomas, he let it be known last summer that he wanted to sign with the Warriors in free agency.

But Golden State didn't bite.

Thomas ended up signing a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans in early April, and he appeared in three games.

Curry also has a lot of respect for the 5-foot-9 lefty, as he mentioned Thomas' "slow grind" mantra during a postgame Zoom session with the media near the end of the regular season.

Yours truly hopes the former Washington Huskies guard earns himself a spot on an NBA roster the entire 2021-22 campaign.
