Count Klay Thompson among the fans of the Warriors' "Oakland Forever" jerseys.
"Love it. The team played 47 years in Oakland, and ... the Town supported them through the thick and thin," Thompson, who's recovering from a torn Achilles, said Saturday on NBC Sports Bay Area's broadcast of Golden State's 118-91 win over the Detroit Pistons.
"There was a lot of lean years there, so when we won those three championships over there, I know that'll live forever. And that was so cool that the organization still plays homage to such a big part of the team's history."

Thompson gave the Warriors' former home a memorable sendoff in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, returning to the court to knock down two free throws after tearing his ACL. Golden State lost that game, and the series, to the NBA champion Toronto Raptors, but Thompson gave one last iconic moment to then-Oracle Arena and Oakland before the Warriors moved across the Bay to Chase Center in San Francisco.

In that game, Thompson wore a jersey bearing "The Town" on the front, but the Warriors' "Oakland Forever" jerseys are the first in franchise history featuring the name of their former home.

Thompson is yet to wear the latter uniform, but Oakland will be a part of him no matter when -- and long after -- he does.
