Why Steph Curry can't rank himself as top five NBA player of last 20 years

Steph Curry recently revealed who he believes are the top five players in NBA history.

The Warriors star's list contained a good mix of players from different eras, from Wilt Chamberlain to LeBron James.

Curry obviously doesn't put himself in the top five all-time conversation, but what if we narrow the time period to the last 20 years of NBA history?

Nope, not even then.

In an interview with "The TODAY Show" on Wednesday, Curry was asked for his top five players from the last 20 years. While LeBron, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan all made the cut behind Michael Jordan, the two-time NBA MVP couldn't put himself in that category just yet.

Why?

It's simple: His story is still being written.

While Curry still has some years left in his prime, it's hard for us not to put the best shooter in NBA history on that list. But, then again, who would be taken off?

Regardless, the 31-year-old will have time to bolster his Hall of Fame résumé before he hangs up his sneakers.

And then the debate can begin.
