Kelly Oubre Jr. couldn't have imagined a worse start to his Warriors career.
The 24-year-old wing now is 0-for-31 on non-dunk attempts through his first three games of the season, including 0-for-17 from 3-point range.
Oubre's struggles should be concerning for a Warriors team relying on him and Andrew Wiggins to help fill the void left by Klay Thompson, who is out for the year with a torn right Achilles. While Oubre is off to a historically bad start from 3-point range, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr isn't surprised by the young wing's slow start to the season.

"I always feel like coming to a new team is difficult," Kerr told reporters after the Warriors' last-second win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, via ESPN. "So Kelly's shooting struggles right now really aren't that surprising. I know it's going to turn. Every time I went to a new team in my career, it was very, very difficult to find comfort in my shots in the early going. And I think Steph is actually going through the same thing right now because he's not as comfortable with where his shots are coming from. Just because of the differences in personnel ... Steph's not used to the same patterns we've had for many years, but I think we're starting to get to some of those."
The Warriors now are 1-2 after three games. They were blown out by two NBA title contenders in the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets, and needed a Damion Lee 3-pointer in the final seconds Sunday to beat the Bulls.
Golden State should exhale now that it has the first win of the season under its belt. But there's no doubt the Warriors need Oubre and Wiggins to up their game in order to contend in the loaded Western Conference.

Oubre, for his part, isn't concerned about his uncharacteristic slow start.
"I'm gonna continue to shoot the shots that are open," Oubre told reporters after the loss to the Bucks. "They will fall because I work my a-- off."
Kerr and the Warriors undoubtedly need Oubre's words to become prophetic in order for this season to stay on track.
