Why Warriors are D-Wade's favorite NBA team to watch

For five seasons, from 2014-15 to 2018-19, the Warriors were the most entertaining team in the NBA. After a two-year playoff hiatus, they are back to playing a fun style of basketball and former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has taken notice.

After halftime of the Warriors' game against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, the future Hall of Famer-turned-TNT analyst explained why he can't take his eyes off Golden State.

"Man, this is my favorite team to watch," Wade said during a conversation with Shaquille O'Neal and Candice Parker. "I really love watching Golden State play. Obviously getting Klay [Thompson] back makes them dangerous but as you guys just talked about, what I love about this team when I watch them is they play with force, they play with energy, and their role players -- Shaq, as you know how some teams, you show up and their role players are going to do certain things, like he just going to shoot that shot and if you don't got it, he's going to move the ball -- their role players are all live at all times.

"You can't just focus on Klay and Steph [Curry], you have to worry about Gary Payton II, him cutting, what he's going to do, you have to worry about [Jordan] Poole obviously shooting, shifty. They have so many guys and [coach] Steve Kerr and their coaching staff allow those guys to play basketball and not just be "role players." And so I love watching this team play."

The return of Thompson this month after a 941-day absence has allowed the Warriors to shift Poole to the bench, making them even deeper.

Payton II has emerged as a valuable member of the rotation, going from 15th man on the roster to spot starter earlier in the season. Otto Porter Jr. has shown he was one of the biggest steals of NBA free agency.

While the Warriors have Curry, one of the most dangerous players in the NBA, their bench depth is a huge reason why they have the second-best record in the NBA entering play Tuesday.

If things play out the right way for Wade, he just might get to watch the Warriors face the Eastern Conference-leading Heat in the NBA Finals in June.
