The 2021 NBA Draft still is five weeks away, and a lot of hypotheticals will be tossed around between now and then.
But yours truly was not expecting to hear this one between the Warriors -- who own the rights to the No. 7 and No. 14 picks -- and the Detroit Pistons -- who possess the No. 1 overall selection.
At the very end of The Lowe Post podcast, ESPN's Zach Lowe and Jonathan Givony had the following back-and-forth:

Lowe: "Someone here in Chicago [at the draft combine] pitched me -- do you think the Warriors or the Pistons would do seven, 14 and [James] Wiseman for the No. 1 pick in the draft? Does either side do that?"
Givony: "The Warriors are one of the big storylines that we're gonna be following for sure. Their situation is so interesting. What do they think about Wiseman deep down? I was not a James Wiseman guy.
"And yeah, I think Detroit would definitely look at that. They were one of the teams that supposedly loved Wiseman a year ago. So that could be an interesting move for them. But their fans would be disappointed by that I would think."
Lowe: "I just think Detroit takes whoever they want at No. 1 and throws a party."

It seems very unlikely this blockbuster deal actually happens, but it definitely makes you pause and think about it.
The Warriors say they are very committed to Wiseman, and believe he can contribute to winning now and then grow into a star down the line.
But would their perspective and mindset change if they seriously could acquire the No. 1 overall pick?

From the Pistons perspective -- even if they still love Wiseman, they did draft Isaiah Stewart 16th overall last year. And the big man averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over his final 32 appearances en route to being named Second-Team All-Rookie.
And it's possible they already are smitten with the presumptive top choice, Cade Cunningham, and aren't even considering trading down.
Again, you definitely shouldn't expect the Warriors and Pistons to hammer out a deal with this framework.
Crazier things have happened, however.
