    Revere led off the game with a single and stolen base. It turned out to be his team’s biggest offensive threat of the night, as the Twins never moved another runner past first base.

    The 23-year-old has hit safely in six straight games, raising his average to .257. He also has 23 steals. Despite nearly non-existent power numbers (.292 slugging percentage), he has a very respectable 39 strikeouts in 404 at-bats.

    Twins general manager Bill Smith confirmed Friday that Ben Revere had his left knee cleaned out and a couple of loose pieces of cartilage removed.
    Revere is expected to be ready for spring training, but it will be a situation to watch since his legs are so important to his game. The 23-year-old outfielder was given extended playing time in his rookie season due to an unusual number of injuries, batting .267/.310/.309 with a .619 OPS while tying Rajai Davis for seventh in the American League with 34 stolen bases. He’ll either start in left field or center next season.

    The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it’s a concern given that his fantasy value is tied to his speed. The 23-year-old outfielder was given extended playing time this season due to injuries, batting .267/.310/.309 with a .619 OPS while setting the Twins’ rookie record with 34 stolen bases. If healthy, he figures to be a regular for the Twins in 2012.

    Revere has six hits in his last seven at-bats, raising his spring average to .393. He figures to be one of the league’s worst offensive left fielders this season, but he should help make up for it with terrific defense.
