Hampton at William & Mary (-4.5): O/U 134.5

William & Mary has failed to beat a DI team this year, managing to beat Mary Baldwin, and that is it.

The Tribe are 0-9 on the ML and ATS outside of that non-D1 win, per NBC’s Edge Finder.

In the past outing, Hampton escaped with a victory over Norfolk State (58-57). That was the second time the two teams met. Norfolk State is a respectable team predicted by many to finish atop the MEAC.

Despite Hampton’s only DI win being over Norfolk State, the Pirates finished within 10 to South Florida and Norfolk State. The Tribe played one single-digit game and that was a loss to Howard.

This season, both squads have posted abysmal offensive and defensive numbers, but the lone outlier is Hampton’s stellar three-point defensive percentage (26.6%, 19th).

William & Mary’s offense averages 29.7% from three (284th), 44.2% from two (302nd) and 64.9% from the free-throw line (310th). Those numbers are not worth backing, as this should be a pick-em game.

The Tribe have won four straight meetings by five or more points, hence why the -4.5 was the opening spread.

Take Hampton plus +4.5 down to +2. The spread has started to move to +3.5 on some books.

Pick: Hampton +4.5 (1u)
