Missouri at Kansas State (-7.5): O/U 55.0

One our fade factories are back for Week 2.

Missouri is 1-16 on the ML (5.8%) and 4-13 ATS (23.5%) over their last 17 games as a road underdog. On the road overall and since 2019, the Tigers are 3-11 on the ML (21.4%) and 2-12 ATS (14.2%), per NBC’s Edge Finder.

Missouri is also 1-5 on the ML (16.6%) and 2-4 ATS (33.3%) in the last six road openers with three-straight losses.

Missouri reloads on offense but has an improved offensive room, but lost their starting quarterback, Connor Bazelak to the transfer portal (Indiana) and running back Tyler Badie to the NFL. The defense will be improved, but I don’t think it will be enough versus K-State’s new dynamic duo.

Kansas State brings in former Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez and returns running Duece Vaughn, who had 126 rushing yards and one touchdown on 18 carries in the season-opener.

The Wildcats running back has been the engine to victory for K-State. When Vaughn rushes for 100-plus yards, Kansas State is 9-1 on the ML over the past 10 times.

Last season Missouri allowed 222.3 rushing yards per game, ranking 120th out of 130 teams in the country. That number increased to 235.8 rushing yards per game on the road last year, so Vaughn and Martinez have a big day ahead of them on the ground.

I laid the -7 (-120) on DK and -7.5 (-110) on FanDuel with Kansas State. I would play this to -9.5 or -10 as I think they win by double-digits.

PointsBet moved this to -8.

Pick: Kansas State -7 or -7.5 (1u)
