The Florida Swing comes to an end this week at the Valspar Championship.
Hosting the event is Innisbrook Resort, which has played that role since the inaugural edition.
There is plenty of history to lean on when playing the markets. With that history, we also know what it takes to contend at the course. It rewards elite iron play and good course management. Let’s check out the betting boards to see what stands out.
David Lipsky - Top-40 Finish (+180)
Iron play reigns supreme at the Copperhead Course and that is where Lipsky excels.
Over the last 24 rounds, he’s gained 11.2 strokes on approach, which ranks 13th in the field this week.
Lipsky is leaking a bit of oil in recent weeks with six straight finishes outside of the top 60 which explains the +180 price here but this looks like a good rebound spot for the solid striker.
Alex Smalley over Robby Shelton - Tournament Matchup (+100)
We have two talented youngsters looking for their breakout wins.
Shelton has been steady this season but if we look at head-to-head matchups Smalley still has the upper hand.
Since the start of last season, Smalley has edged Shelton 6-to-5 when playing in the same event.
Smalley is 7th in this week’s field when looking at bogey avoidance over the last 24 rounds. That steady play is what typically works well at Innisbrook.
