Vaughn Dalzell shares his best bet in the rubber match between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros.
Phillies (+125) at Astros (-145): O/U 9.0
Philadelphia won the first two meetings of this series 3-1 and 6-1, so Houston is looking to avoid being swept at home against the team they beat in the World Series.
José Urquidy and Bailey Falter are the starting pitchers, which should benefit the Astros.
Philly is 1-4 in Falter’s five starts and Falter himself is 0-4 with a 4.50 ERA, along with 28 hits over 28.0 innings (14 earned runs). However, Houston is 2-3 in Urquidy’s five starts and he was hit hard over the last two games with 10 earned runs.
Urquidy went 3.0 innings and allowed one hit with four strikeouts to one walk in the World Series meeting versus Philly last season. Falter has never faced Houston and this will mark his fourth road start of the year.
Falter is 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA on the road and .277 OBA. Falter’s allowed more hits (18) than innings pitched (17) on the road this year. I played the Astros on the ML at -145 odds and would go to -160.
Let’s hope the third time is the charm after losing on Houston twice in a row.
Pick: Astros ML (1u)
