Vaughn Dalzell breaks down the best bet in Sunday’s afternoon matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins.
Cubs (-160) at Marlins (+140): O/U 8.0
The Chicago Cubs look to avoid being swept in Miami after 7-6 and 3-2 victories for the Marlins.
Justin Steele takes the mound for Chicago and Bryan Hoeing for Miami. Hoeing is making his second start of the season after going 4.2 innings agains the Braves with six hits, four earned runs and two walks to two strikeouts.
The Cubs have won four-straight games with Steele on the mound and he’s recorded the win in all four games.
Steele owns the longest active starting streak without a loss (10 games). His last loss came on July 28th last season. Chicago is 8-2 in Steele’s last 10 starts.
Miami scored five runs in the first inning of Saturday’s meeting and needed a walk-off in Friday’s win. Chicago’s been the better hitting team this season and with their best pitcher on the mound, I am backing the Cubs on the ML.
Chicago’s ML opened at -140 and has been on the move. I risked 1 unit on -160.
Pick: Cubs ML (Risk 1u)
