Vaughn Dalzell breaks down how he’s betting Game 3 between the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns,
Nuggets at Suns (-3.5): O/U 224.5
The Nuggets head to Phoenix with a 2-0 lead over the Suns with the benefit of Chris Paul being out for Games 3 and 4.
Paul being out may not be a disadvantage for Phoenix as Kevin Durant and Devin Booker will put up more shots. However, the Suns’ depth is already an issue and could become the reason Phoenix is knocked out of the postseason.
Through two games, the Suns led at the end of the first quarter of both games and at the end of halftime in Game 2. Phoenix blew the second-half of both Games 1 and 2, so we will see a max desperation spot from the Suns.
The Suns only managed 14 points in the fourth quarter of Game 2 without Paul. As we have seen with the 76ers and Celtics series, a player being out (Embiid) isn’t a bad thing and that same player coming back from injury could be.
The Nuggets game plan will change and without knowing what to expect from the Suns, while being on the road gives the Suns the edge in Game 3. This is a trifecta spot for the Suns.
I played the Suns 1Q ML at -155 odds, the -1.5 for the 1H at -128 odds and full game ML at -165 odds. This could be the last time to back the Suns depending on the Game 4 price.
Pick: Suns 1Q ML (Risk 1u), Suns 1H -1.5 (Risk 1u), Suns ML (Risk 1u)
