Tonight the NBA schedule treats us to another marquee matchup between Eastern Conference foes when the Miami Heat try to win their fifth-straight game when they face the Bucks tonight in Milwaukee.
Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks (-4.5) Total: 225
The Miami Heat strut into FiservForum tonight with the best record in the Eastern Conference, while also riding a four-game winning streak. The last time we saw the Miami Heat they were beating up on the Chicago Bulls, who just so happened to have the second-best record in the East. Tonight they look to knock off the team with the third-most wins.
PointsBet currently has the Heat at +500 to win their conference while their opponent tonight, the Milwaukee Bucks, sit at +300. I agree, considering the Bucks are the champs and in order to be the champs, you have to beat the champs. My problem is these champs have not looked good consistently this season. The Bucks are 6-4 straight up in their last 10 games.
Tonight will be the fourth time these teams have met this season. Miami won both their games in South Beach in convincing fashion. The Bucks returned the favor in their first meeting in Milwaukee. Even though the Bucks handled Miami in their building earlier this season, the Bucks have been poor at home against the spread. This season Milwaukee is just 12-21 (36%) ATS in their home building. Meanwhile, Miami is 20-13-1 (60%) ATS on the road.

There seems to be a thought process amongst fans, bettors and oddsmakers that the Bucks will turn it around. Maybe they will, but I don’t see them beating the Heat tonight. PointsBet opened this game up with the Bucks as 4-point favorites. Public betting on the Bucks has moved that number up. Tonight’s a good night to fade the public and the champs and roll with the red-hot Heat.
Edge: Heat +4.5
