Wagering on NBA games the week of the All-Star break can be a daunting task. Many players have already checked out and have their minds on vacation plans. Be careful with your bankroll this week. You never know what team will show up. Tonight, we will try to make the best of it. Odds via PointsBet.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat (-3.5) Total: 208.5

The Miami Heat play their final home game of the first half of the NBA season tonight when they host the Dallas Mavericks. Miami’s 37 wins are tied with the Chicago Bulls for most in the East as we approach the break. That includes beating the Mavericks earlier this season by 15 points. Overall, Miami is 19-6 on the Money Line and 14-11 ATS at home this season, but Jimmy Butler is questionable for tonight’s game and Tyler Herro is expected to sit out.

After a slow start to the season the Mavericks have really turned it around. Dallas is currently the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference after winning four of their last five and six of their last 10 games. Luka Doncic has also scored 51 and 45 points in his last two games.

Dallas is 13-13 on the Money Line and 14-12 ATS on the road this season. Over the course of their last 10 road games the Mavericks have alternated ATS wins and losses. If they stay on the trend the Mavericks should cover the number tonight. It helps that Miami is 0-4 ATS in their last four home games.

Edge: Mavericks +3.5

Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers (+3.5) Total: 210

The Celtics and 76ers meet up for the third and final time this season when they play tonight in Philadelphia. The Sixers have won the previous two meetings and enter tonight’s game with a two game lead over Boston in the Atlantic Division. This is a huge game for both teams and Boston will be at full strength, while the Sixers are still waiting on James Harden to make his team debut.

The Celtics, which are on an eight-game winning streak, are the hottest team in the league and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games. However, the 76ers are not playing bad either. They are 7-3 on the Money Line in their last 10 games and 6-2 over their last eight home games.

For as good as the Celtics are playing right now there are two reasons I’m going against them tonight. The first reason is I’m not passing up the value of backing MVP favorite Joel Embiid as a home underdog in a very important game. The second reason is the Celtics have lost six straight games in Philadelphia.

Edge: Sixers +3.5
