We have a huge midweek betting slate in the NBA this evening. Probably not a good idea to place a wager on all 13 games, but I have a couple games that I have my eye on. Odds vis PointsBet.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Milwaukee Bucks (-6.5) Total: 229
The Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks meet tonight in what could be an NBA Finals preview. Before you start thinking I’m off my rocker putting the Grizzlies in the Finals, Memphis currently has a better record than the Milwaukee Bucks. The Grizzlies will be without Desmond Bane and Kyle Anderson tonight. Jrue Holiday will be a game-time decision for the Bucks.
When I first saw this game on the schedule, I figured the Bucks would be a 1.5 to 2.5-point favorite. This morning when I saw this number at Memphis +7, I hopped on it. Even with Bane and Anderson out for the Grizzlies, I don’t see the Bucks as 7-8 points better than them. If Jrue Holiday plays, he could give Ja Morant fits, but I think the Grizzlies team concept will play well in Milwaukee tonight.

Those of us who wager on the NBA on a daily basis like to back teams who are good against the spread, and we fade teams that are poor against the spread. That is exactly the situation that we have tonight.
The Grizzlies have been a very profitable team to bet on this season. They are 30-16 ATS on the season. When they play away from the FedEx Forum, they are 15-5 ATS. Milwaukee on the other hand, has been an ATS nightmare. The World Champs are 20-26 ATS and 8-14 (36%) ATS at home. The Bucks ATS record tells us that they are overvalued at home. That’s exactly the case tonight.
Edge: Grizzlies +6.5
Toronto Raptors vs Dallas Mavericks (-4.5) Total: 207.5
If you are going to attend this game tonight, you may see a number of Dallas Cowboys players in attendance. Don’t be afraid to boo them. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. What you will see tonight in Dallas is a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the NBA.
Since Christmas Day, the Mavericks are 10-3 on the Money Line and 9-4 ATS. In that same timeframe, the Raptors are 7-5 on the Money Line and 8-4 ATS. The Raptors are coming off a five-point loss to the Miami Heat, while the Mavericks enter tonight’s contest off a two-point victory vs. the OKC Thunder. Both teams are healthy coming into tonight’s game.
There are no absolutes in sports betting, but I do like to fade teams when they are deep into a road trip. Tonight, Toronto will be playing their fourth-straight road game. Toronto has been decent on the road this season going 9-9 on the Money Line and 10-8 ATS away from Canada.
The Mavericks have fared well on their homecourt this season. To this point, they are 13-8 on the Money Line and 10-11 ATS. Dallas comes into tonight’s game winners of five-straight home games. They are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Edge: Dallas -4.5
