On the latest episode of Bet the Edge, Jay Croucher and Brad Thomas look at the highest-leverage game of the 2022 NFL season when the Buffalo Bills (-3) take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, as well as the DPOY market, and NBA Win totals for the upcoming season.
Bet the Edge discusses what kind of impact the Bills-Chiefs tilt will have on not just the AFC race, but the MVP one as well with Josh Allen (+220) and Patrick Mahomes (+300) leading the charge. They debate the difficulty of not backing Mahomes and the Chiefs getting a field goal at home. Jay and Brad also look into the DPOY landscape with Micah Parsons taking a step forward as the clear favorite (+115) after five weeks with Nick Bosa (+500) trailing him as he battles through a groin injury. The duo check in on a couple of other candidates that are not worth a sprinkle outside the 10/1 range in Aaron Donald (+1200) and Maxx Crosby (+1500).
The program locks onto a few NBA team win totals in the Western Conference for the 2022 season. Brad is looking at the Dallas Mavericks over 48.5 wins for the upcoming season as they expect Luka Doncic to enter the elite status as the MVP favorite. He is also fading the Utah Jazz (U24.5) with the possibility of the bottom falling out after they blew up their roster and shipped away key pieces like Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Jay is all in on the Minnesota Timberwolves (O48.5) as he believes they will be one of the best teams in the NBA during the regular season. Croucher is a lot less bullish on the Phoenix Suns (U52.5) coming off back to back disappointing ends to great seasons.
