BOSTON – The Bruins had a little bit if a surprise on Tuesday morning, as they’ve called up Alex Khokhlachev from Providence to play in place of David Pastrnak, who is still nursing a sore foot after blocking a shot in the win last week against Arizona.
Pastrnak had no points and four shots on net in the last two games following the blocked shot, and appeared to have some difficulty skating in those two contests.
“We’re just giving David [Pastrnak] a little bit more time there to…he’s still feeling that shot he got in the foot, so we’re giving him a little bit more time to heal here,” said Claude Julien, following morning skate. “He’s not feeling 100% comfortable, so we’ve called up Koko [Alexander Khokhlachev] to replace him.”
Koko, meanwhile, has four goals and 13 points to share the AHL lead in scoring over the first 10 games of the season, and was skating in Pastrnak’s spot along the right side on David Krejci’s line. Otherwise, it was the same lineup for the Black and Gold with the Stars coming into town on the second night of back-to-back games after losing in Toronto.
Tuukka Rask was the first goalie off the ice and is looking to make the start vs. Dallas after allowing just one goal in his last two games.
Here are the line combos and D-pairings for tonight’s game vs. Dallas, based on the morning skate at TD Garden.
