Saturday, Jan. 28: What the Top 100 would change about the NHL

Here are all the links from around the hockey word, and what I’m reading, while agreeing that Zdeno Chara got the shaft not being included on the top-100 NHL Players of all-time list released on Friday night.

*The Top 100 players of all time reveal their feelings about today’s NHL and how they would change things if they could.

*PHT writer and FOH (Friend of Haggs) Mike Halford has the list of Top 100 NHL players of all time that has Duncan Keith rather than Zdeno Chara, the best defensive stopper of his generation at a future Hall of Fame D-man, on their list. I don’t know about that one, but the multiple Stanley Cups is obviously the trump card for those Blackhawks players.

*Dallas Stars coach Lindy Ruff is going to be fired at the end of the season if the Stars don’t make the playoffs, according to the Star-Telegram.

*Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux all agree that Detroit Red Wings great Gordie Howe was the best of all-time.

*Former Blackhawks great Stan Mikita is getting special treatment by the NHL in Hollywood at NHL All-Star weekend.

*San Jose Sharks goaltender Martin Jones has gone from undrafted puck-stopper all the way to NHL All-Star on his path to hockey stardom.

*For something completely different: This news story about the Baylor athletic program is absolutely horrific.
