Saturday, June 18: A blog vote for Kulikov-to-Bruins deal

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while bummed that seem to have missed out on an awesome lightning storm last night out here in Newton.

*The Let’s Go Bruins blog is high on the idea of the Bruins landing Dmitry Kulikov and wants them to go back the tire-kicking stage.

*The Calgary Flames have reportedly reached out to the Penguins about a Marc-Andre Fleury trade and that makes sense given their need for a goalie.

*The Ottawa Senators have hired Pierre Groulx as a goaltending coach and he’s excited to work with Craig Anderson among others.

*Old Bruins farmhand Craig Cunningham has been signed to a one-year, two-way deal by the Arizona Coyotes.

*We sat down for this week’s Great American Hockey Show podcast and had a great pre-NHL draft conversation with New England Hockey Journal and Red Line Report draft guru Kirk Luedeke prior to next week’s draft.

*PHT writer James O’Brien has Islanders GM Garth Snow more or less kissing goodbye to free agent Kyle Okposo. I’ve heard the Minnesota Wild is in Okposo’s future, but I guess we’ll see leading up to the July 1 open of free agency.

*Phil Kessel decided he didn’t want to go on a small 8-person plane and that cost his linemates a chance to go on the Stephen Colbert show. They didn’t seem that angry about it, but this is definitely Phil Being Phil.

*For something completely different: I have no idea why Piers Morgan is writing about Taylor Swift, or why I am linking to it.
