BOSTON -- Al Horford’s return to the Boston Celtics lineup will likely happen within the next couple of days.

Horford, who told CSNNE.com prior to the game that he would not play tonight, told a group of reporters afterwards that he would be traveling with the team when they hit the road following tonight’s game against New York.

Boston plays at Indiana and New Orleans on Saturday and Monday, respectively.

It is unclear if the 6-foot-10 forward will play in both games.

But with him being cleared to travel with the team, it’s unlikely they would bring him on the trip and not have him play in either game unless he were to suffer an unexpected setback.

“I feel good; I feel good,” Horford, who was first put in the NBA’s concussion protocol program on Nov. 2, told a group of reporters. “I’m very encouraged by the progress we’ve made. I’m excited, working on being back as soon as possible.”

Boston has lost three of the four games Horford has had to sit out due to the injury, with the Celtics defense ranking among the league’s worst during that span.

In the three games Horford has played, he has averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game with the Celtics posting a 2-1 record in that span.
