To call Isaiah Thomas’ 53-point performance in Game 2 against the Wizards impressive would be an understatement.
Considering the hours of dental work that he had endured and the weight of playing on recently deceased sister Chyna’s 23rd birthday, Thomas’ effort in the Celtics’ overtime win was nothing short of astonishing.
Other athletes took notice, both in the NBA and in other sports.
Chris Bosh stated the obvious.

Kevin Garnett, raving over the duel between Thomas and John Wall, acknowledged that the series was “lit” in a video posted on Twitter.
“I knew you were going to have one of these special nights,” Garnett said to Thomas, adding to “keep playing for Chyna.”
Matt Bonner and Kobe Bryant debated what to call Thomas after the performance.
Floyd Mayweather, who’s friends with Thomas, posted a picture of himself with thousands of dollars.
And free agent running back LeGarrette Blount, who has frequented C’s games over the years, still has an appreciation for the city’s athletes despite likely being done in New England.
