Report: Pacers GM shoots down rumored Celtics offers for Paul George

Did the Indiana Pacers really turn down three first-round picks and two starters from Danny Ainge on draft night for Paul George?

Pacers GM Kevin Pritchard, who a lot of people think sold low on George last week by dealing him to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis, cast doubt on that Friday.

"A lot of those [trade] offers are put into the media for a reason. A lot of times if it hits that level, it's not going to happen or wasn't real," Pritchard said in an Indianapolis Star report on the introductory press conference for the new Pacers.

Pritchard joked that the Celtics offered to coax Larry Bird out of retirement and have him suit up for Indy. He said the rumored offers were 5 percent correct, Indianapolis Star sports editor Matt Glenesk tweeted.
